Sacramento retirement communities Sacramento 55+ Communities Sacramento Real Estate for Retirement
As willing participants of this generation, my husband and I could be considered very typical Baby Boomers. We're active and have very specific life needs that Sacramento willingly affords. As part of this historic generation, I am particularly qualified to serve the needs of active retiring seniors. As your Realtor, I understand that quality of life matters, and Sacramento serves the active senior in so many ways. Let's take a look at just how important this generation has become to the overall US economy. This generation spans post WW 2 to 1961.

The Boomer generation is vital to our economy. Our active senior population in Sacramento is growing due to lifestyle amenities it offers. Quality of life centers around six key features that Sacramento provides:
Year Round Climate
Sacramento provides an excellent climate with average yearly winter high temperatures of about 60 degrees and average summer temps at about 91 degrees. We experience approximately 285 days of sunshine per year, with approximately 17" of rainfall, and our average humidity is a low 46%. Hot summer days often give way to a cool delta breeze that makes life outdoors after sunset a pleasant experience.
Active 55 and up Communities
The Sacramento area is blessed with several active senior lifestyle communities serving a wide range of needs and recreational amenities. Del Webb has communities in Roseville, Lincoln, and Elk Grove. Golf courses, tennis courts, swimming pools, and club activities are coordinated throughout these senior planned communities. The link below will show typical listings in Lincoln's Sun City area for active seniors. Please browse through these listings and contact me for more information. This is just one of the active senior communities in the Sacramento area. Fine Healthcare Access
With the UC Davis campus close by, Sacramento is blessed with some of the finest research and medical facilities anywhere in California. Cutting edge medical technology, new and modern facilities, trauma centers, and several hospitals round out the area's medical community. Seniors will find health care a key benefit to living in the area.
What's a city without a pulse? Sacramento has a right to lay claim to being one of the biggest small cities in the country. What we find so appealing is that we can make a last minute decision to go to our favorite restaurant downtown and be seated within 15 minutes of departure. Old Town is a treat and we often find ourselves visiting on a nice quiet Sunday. Sacramento has a historical flair that rivals San Francisco on much smaller scale. From gold rush era Victorians, to the tree-lined streets of the Fabulous 40's and Land Park, to Lincoln's 55+ Del Webb community, Sacramento's widely diversified communities offer the active senior convenient and relevant amenities that are easily within reach. Opera, concerts, fine restaurants, and theatre are all available to local residents. That's probably why the greater Sacramento area was chosen in 2004 as one of the top 5 most livable areas by "America's Most Livable Communities".
Recreational Opportunities
Today's active retirees will find Sacramento a haven for all types of recreational activity. Summer pastimes include boating on the Sacramento and American Rivers, Golf, Tennis, Fishing, Hiking, Bird and Nature Watching, Cycling, Offroading, River Rafting, Water Skiing, and just about everything "outdoor" one can imagine. Sacramento is within an hour of great snow skiing at local Sierra resorts, and Reno is just a couple hours away.
Access to travel is a key consideration for our retiring generation. Sacramento has public transportation systems that are a model for small cities. One can board in an outlying area and travel downtown via light rail with ease. Sacramento airport is a close-in convenience that's modern, and travel- friendly, with easy access to ticketing, boarding gates, and baggage claim areas. For those looking to get out of town, Sacramento is fine place to start.
